"The Drive"
That Never Ends....
Day 2
We started out waking up and grabbing breakfast in Ogallala, Nebraska! We then knew that we had to make it all the way to Des Moines, Iowa.
There is not much to tell about our drive through Nebraska and most of Iowa because all there was to look at was CORN and more CORN. With how much CORN there was we decided that everything has to have some CORN in it because there is so much stinking CORN!!!! But if you wanted something else to look at every once in a while there were a few fields that were full of wheat!
Finally we made it into IOWA!
We then wanting to spend more time with our friends the Bruins, in Des Moines that were so wonderful and willing to let us stay the night with them we pushed our driving to 2-2.5 hour shifts.
Thankfully we got to Des Moines before dark and before dinner. Todd was very happy to see us and show off his cute baby girl Maddie. He was also so nice and took us out for dinner at a local hot spot called Jethro's and then took us on a rush tour of down town. After we went home and just hung our catching up and getting ready for bed. We felt bad that we left so early before their sweet family was awake but we are still very thankful for their hospitality.
